If after reading my last post, you still believe I wrote the piece about my reasons for quitting church in condemnation of others and with a judgemental attitude, I urge you to please listen to this sermon which was given by Pastor Carter Conlon at Times Square Church in New York on the 8th of May 2011, a few days ago. The sermon is entitled “A river that cannot be passed over”. We have been away recently and since we got back our telephone line and internet have been down for quite a few days, so today has really been the first day when I have had a proper opportunity to catch up with my favourite sermon podcasts on iTunes. I have only heard this sermon for the first time this morning. When you hear that sermon you will understand why I felt the presence of Jesus right by my side this morning encouraging me and filling me with strength for the journey ahead. I had about 12 different sermons to catch up with but I immediately felt drawn to this one. Now I know why! Thank you Lord Jesus for touching my heart in such a personal way today.
I hope it is an encouragement for you too.
